In light of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, here's a moving photo essay that reflects on his life. It is rather strange and disturbing that the civil rights movement really wasn't very long ago.
I'm glad that other people see that this day is not just a day off of work or school or whatever (even though I had inservice haha)...I did a lesson with each of the second grade classes last week about Martin Luther King, Jr. and the March on Washington which worked out really well. I couldn't believe how little the kids knew about him and about segregation, but at least I opened some eyes.
I'm Kristin. Christ-Follower. Wife. Mommy. Friend. Beautiful disaster. I love coffee, a good book, laughter, and authenticity. I hope you'll find me seeking sacred in the ordinary, justice for the oppressed, and life to the full.
